NEARLY THREE DECADES ON THE WESTSIDE
Cards, Creamy Whip & Community
Before it became a Cincinnati hobby staple, Shoeless Joe's started as a baseball card shop and neighborhood creamy whip — serving up slushies, nachos, and summertime memories alongside the cards.
Tom Huber's Legacy
In the late '90s, Tom Huber took over the shop and spent nearly three decades building one of the most diverse card and collectible inventories in the region. His love for the hobby turned Shoeless Joe's into a time capsule collectors of all ages could lose themselves in — more than a store, it was part of the community's fabric.
A Rocky Start to a New Chapter
Just one week after new ownership took the reins, a major storm tore through the region — damaging the roof and causing significant flooding. The floors, walls, and ceiling had to be replaced, but we worked hard to keep the heart and soul of Shoeless Joe's intact.
Continuing the Story
Now operated by brothers Dan and Kevin Burke — lifelong Cincinnatians and longtime customers — Shoeless Joe's enters a new chapter. As second-generation collectors, we're proud to preserve what Tom built while growing the shop into new territory. Same local roots. Same collector spirit. A fresh look, ready for the next generation.
THE BURKE FAMILY
Shoeless Joe's Cards is proudly operated by brothers Kevin and Dan Burke, lifelong Cincinnati residents and passionate collectors. We've been visiting Shoeless Joe's since it first opened its doors in 1997 and have deep roots in the local hobby community.
In 2022, during the hobby's post-COVID resurgence, we launched our own card business focused on grading, collecting, and resale. Our experience includes 1,000+ submissions to PSA, BGS, SGC, and other graders. We've been active on eBay since 2001 and continue to work with platforms such as PWCC, Goldin, Collectors, Fanatics, and Rally Rd.
Our goal is to blend the classic card shop feel of Shoeless Joe's with modern tools and services that meet the needs of today's collectors.
A NEW CHAPTER FOR A WESTSIDE LANDMARK
After a full roof replacement and new carpeting and ceiling work throughout, Shoeless Joe's has reopened its doors — restored, refreshed, and ready to serve the collecting community once again. We're grateful for the patience and support that carried us through the rebuild. The same nostalgic atmosphere, with modern services for today's hobby.
