SMS Privacy Policy & Terms

1. General Privacy Policy

As described in our Privacy Policy, we collect personal information from your interactions with us and our website, including through cookies and similar technologies. We may also share this personal information with third parties, including advertising partners, in order to show you ads on other websites that are more relevant to your interests and for other reasons outlined in our privacy policy.

All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile phone numbers, and your SMS consent, are never sold, rented, or shared with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes, and are excluded from every sharing practice described above.

Sharing of personal information for targeted advertising based on your interaction on different websites may be considered "sales", "sharing", or "targeted advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of these activities. Again, this does not apply to SMS data or consent, which is never shared.

2. Text Us

Our store number, (513) 574-4997, accepts text messages. Text us during business hours and a real person at the shop will reply.

Customers text us to ask whether something is in stock, to send photos of cards they are thinking about selling or trading in, to ask our hours, and to check whether cards they left with us for grading have come back. We answer from that same number.

We only reply to conversations you start. We do not send promotional text blasts, we do not add anyone to a texting list, and we do not text people who have not contacted us first.

3. How Consent Works

When you send us a text message, that message is your consent for us to reply to you and to continue that conversation. There is nothing to sign up for. If you would like us to stop, reply STOP at any time and we will not text you again.

4. SMS Privacy Policy (Carrier Compliance)

  • Information Collected: Your mobile phone number and anything you choose to include in your messages to us, including photos of items you send.

  • How Information is Used: To answer your questions, to discuss items you want to sell or trade, to tell you about the status of an order or grading submission you asked about, and to provide customer support.

  • Third-Party Sharing: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are excluded from all other sharing practices; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

  • Data Storage: Message threads live on our business phone line. Where you are an existing customer, your number is stored on your customer record in our Shopify customer database, which is our CRM and point-of-sale system. Access is limited to shop owners and staff.

5. SMS Terms & Conditions

  • Brand: Messages come from Shoeless Joe's Cards & Collectibles, 6123 Bridgetown Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45248.

  • Message Types: Customer care and conversational replies only. Answers about inventory, pricing, and store hours; buy, sell, and trade discussions; and status updates on an order or grading submission you asked us about.

  • Consent: Texting our store number is your consent for us to reply. Texting us is never a condition of any purchase.

  • Frequency: Message frequency varies. Every message we send is a reply within a conversation you started.

  • Rates: Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for the messages themselves; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.

  • Help: Reply HELP to any message, call us at (513) 574-4997, or email contact@shoelessjoescards.com.

  • Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting you. Reply START if you want to text with us again.

  • Carrier Liability: Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and is not guaranteed.

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old and the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you use.
